PROPS, EQUIPMENT AND CHARACTERS

All of the props we have chosen to use will aid to enhance the realism present in the short film, they should also be able to create the suspense and tension that we are trying to make the audience feel.

Even though there is going to be a large variety of props, my group is trying to keep the amount of props to a minimum, so our opening scene can create enigmas for the audience. If we try to add in too many things it can seem over dramatic, and this will not draw in the audience.

Below is a short checklist of some of the main props and equipment our group plans to use for our thriller opening.
  • Old, raggedy, dirty clothes to be worn by the girl being held hostage.

  • Fake blood

  • Wooden Chair

  • Family Photograph

  • Knife

Equipment needed for creating our film opening
  • Camera
  • Torch/ Spotlight
Character list: For our thriller opening, 2 characters are necessary. The main character will be an 18 year old girl, and the other character will me a man, aged roughly 30 years old, who will be taking her hostage. Our actors for this scene will be Jasmine playing the 18 year old girl and Peter playing the man.
